Reef Octopus eSsence S-130 Protein Skimmer has been designed from the ground up to create a super quiet, space-saving skimmer. The biggest change you will notice is the quick release tabs that hold the body to the base plate. In just a few seconds, you can detach the body from the base for cleaning or maintenance on the pump. Other innovative features include an integrated silencer in the neck of the skimmer. The silencer is automatically descending and the large chamber prevents sound from becoming audible.

Tuning the S-130 is easier than ever with the 16-step click button that allows you to perfectly adjust the internal water level of your skimmers. With traditional gate valves or wedge pipes, you can almost never recreate the same setting if the valve is ever bumped or twisted. The S-130 click button makes it easy to retune your skimmer in case something changes. One of the biggest changes to the eSsence S-130 skimmer is the fully submerged drain pipe. The unique 360-degree pipe has special cuts to prevent the water leaving the skimmer from splashing and making noise.
