Description
Fauna Marin Balling Light Set
The Balling Light Set from Fauna Marin is a complete set of high purity Balling salts, additives and accessories to start immediately with the Balling Light method.
Balling Light is a very user-friendly Balling method to supply the aquarium with calcium, magnesium and carbonates and various trace elements.
In Germany, this method has replaced the use of a lime reactor. An increasing number of aquarists are also using Fauna Marin Balling salts in conjunction with a lime reactor to balance the chemical imbalances that can occur from a lime reactor.

DIFFERENCES WITH BALLING CLASSIC
The main difference with Balling Classic is that Balling Light is much simpler and cheaper.
The use of chloride-based additives (calcium chloride and magnesium chloride) can lead to an increased chloride content in the aquarium and thus to a disturbance in the ion balance. Balling Classic solves this problem by replacing a small part of aquarium water with water made with mineral salt (sodium chloride-free salt).
Mineral salt can be added as an extra to Balling Light, but this is not necessary in combination with weekly water changes of 10%. Weekly water changes of 10% ensure that the chloride content and ion balance in the aquarium remain stable without the use of mineral salt.
Maintaining the magnesium content has also become easier. Balling Light requires the use of only one type of magnesium salt while Balling Classic requires a second one (namely Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate).
Another important difference with Balling Classic is that the salts do not have to be weighed to calculate exactly how much is needed to make the solutions, making the Balling Light method much more user-friendly.
