Fauna Marin Ultra Phos
Ultra Phos from Fauna Marin is an aluminum-based absorber that safely removes phosphates and humic substances from the aquarium. The pollutants are bound to the surface of Ultra Power Phos and will not be released. With Fauna Marin Ultra Phos you can maintain very low nutrient concentrations in your aquarium. Unwanted algae growth will be stopped and corals will show their natural colors.
Use of Fauna Marin Ultra Phos
Make all changes to the aquarium gently and slowly!
Start with 50 grams of Ultra Phos per 200 liters of aquarium water.
After 14 days, the dose can be increased to 100 grams per 200 liters. Note: Do not overdose!
Check the phosphate concentration regularly with a reliable test kit.
Refresh Ultra Phos as soon as the phosphate level starts to rise again.
Do not use more than 100 grams per 200 liters of water. We recommend placing the material in a high flow filter for maximum performance.
In case of extremely low levels of phosphate, combined with an unmeasurable nitrate content, Ultra Phos should not be used!
Ultra Phos is extremely strong and suitable for aquariums with a high nutrient load. Ultra Phos also removes unwanted organics and yellow tint from the water.
In aquariums with a high organic load (yellowish water) it can take a while before the phosphate content starts to drop. This is a normal process, you will also see the color of Ultra Phos change from white to yellow as the aquarium water becomes clearer.
For slower adsorption, rinse the filled filter bag with osmosis water before use.
For best results and adsorption efficiency, place the material between two layers of filter wool or use a canister filter.
When using a fluid bed filter, consider the much higher efficiency of the material. Reduce the amount of Ultra Phos by 50% and carefully watch the flow through the filter.
Fauna Marin Ultra Phos gets warm when it is first submerged in water.
Do not rinse.
